What do I eat!? And MFP challenges

It's Thursday It's Thursday! Or as I like to know it as, the last day of the week for me this week :)

Yesterday, I stayed home from work, because of this little number.

Ya blizzards and me don't mix, sorry not gonna risk my life to drive to work. So, I spent the day watching daytime tv (hey price is right i've missed you!) and eating and doing c25k. :)  and playing with this little munchkin

I've gotten asked a lot recently what I eat during the week so I decided I would share a little with you guys..first is breakfast

One whole egg, 2 egg whites and two thin pieces of bacon and half a piece of american cheese total calories=160

I've also recently picked up these little babies. I hate oatmeal for some reason, I don't like the chunks. But my mom had me try this and its actually pretty good and filling!

One serving size with water is 130 calories.

Next is snacks. My new fav is greek yogurt however dannon lite and fit is only 80 calories so I'll be picking up that soon!

This is seriously my guilty pleasure, SO GOOD! Kind of like a butterfinger and only 110 calories! I love sweets so this is how I fit it in

Popcorn is another guilty pleasure LOVE this brand with a snack bag size of m&ms mixed in. Heaven! 170 Calories. I recently picked up the V-day snack packs so there are little specs of pink and red in my popcorn :)

If you know anything about me its that I LOVE cheese! That and mexican food :) But these are how I fit my cheese fix in :)

And last but not least christmas in a cup :) Chai Teas are my absolute fav! If you have that auto coffee brewing thing I don't remember what its called? But this is onlhy 60 calories! Score!

I would do dinners but I don't have enough pics for this post so that will have to be in a seperate post :)

I usually eat about 1200 calories a day give or take 100. I am doing c25k everyday, its just too hard for me to keep up and keep a routine without doing it. I would like to do 30 day shred or ripped in 30 as well everyday, but I find it super hard to do both every single day. I just have to make myself do it I guess any tips? Gotta get in that bikini by May 31 ( any operation red bikini followers in here? )

In other news, MFP. I have one, I've tried it a few times and it just doesnt click with me. Its so much easier for me to write down my calories in my planner (post on that later as well) I don't know if I just need to use it more to get the hang of it or what.

I guess I just don't understand like if i make a sandwich I have to look up each ingredient seperately to log? It seems like A LOT of people use MFP and love it! I feel left out, I want to love it too! haha

My very first Link up! Weigh-In Wednesday!

Happy Hump Day People! Whew almost through the week! And this girl is READY for some weekend action to get here already!

So today I am joing in my very first link up with Erin and Alex! And if you're reading my blog for the first time WELCOME! It means so much to me to share my journey with others and learn other people's journey's as well.

So, a little background on this whole scale thing. I started my serious weightloss journey in August 2012 and was a size 16. As of last week I am currently a size 8! And get this, I have NEVER weighed myself!

 The last time I weighed myself was June 2012 so I know roughly what I weighed when I started this whole thing. As the weeks went by I just noticed how much looser my clothes were fitting, especially my jeans. I know all jean brands different vary in size and fit depending on which brand you buy. When I started this last August I was in a size 16 jeans fit 3 from Target. Since then, every time my jeans have been getting looser I go back to target and get the same jeans just a size down. That way I have been able to keep track of truly going from a size 16 to a size 8, so far!

When I have tried to lose weight in the past the scale has been my biggest road block. It can play such mind games with you! For instance, if I lose weight that week, I think oh it's working! A few oreos, some McChickens and Double cheesburgers wont hurt that much right?! Or, the flip side, if I don't lose any weight that week I think wow I really tried and this just isn't working. I'll just go stuff my face because it doesn't matter if I try or not. It was just a constant mind game and I would lose stamina, motivation etc.

With that being said, I want to see that visual as well. I want to know what I am doing is working. At first, when I did two rounds of 30 day shred in Oct and Nov I measured inches throughout, losing 15 inches the first month and 14 the second month. I was also able to see a difference in my body each time my pants would get to loose and I would have to go buy a new pair. That's what kept my motivation and stamina up.

At the beginning that's all I needed. I could see a difference. But now that I am slowly getting smaller I have noticed and know its going to be harder to get down to the size I want to be at which is a 4-6.

 I promised myself at the beginning of this journey that if I ever got down to the single digits ,then I would weigh myself. I knew and know now that being a size 8 would give me the confidence to say to myself ok, look how far you've come. You're almost there, you're SO close! You can do this!! Plus, with the last leg being the hardest now I will actually be able to see if my eating and working habits are paying off on the scale as well.

So, my plan is to weigh myself this friday, February 1st. I just like the beginning of the month feel. However, from now on every wednesday I will be weighing myself until I reach my goal! I think my goal weight would be 130 but we'll just have to see what the scale says on Friday. I am very nervous but also excited to switch things up a bit!

c25k and skinny cupcakes!

Happy Tuesday People!

First of all thank you so much for all my page views yesterday! I can't wait to connect with more people along my journey

Last night after work I did wk2 day 1 of C25K program. I did 7 weeks of c25k in October-November then I went on vacation to see my boyfriend's family in Colorado and boom dropped it like it was nada. But this time I bound and determind to finish it!

I'm focusing on being able to run longer and not so much on speed this time around. I want to be able to run races in the new future so that is the goal I am aiming for.

I am also doing 30 day shred with Jillian Michales almost everyday, however I am finding it tough to do them both in a row so tomorrow I am going to try to get my running in the morning and 30 day shred after work and see how that goes. 30 Day shred kills you! I did two round in October and again in November and the first month I lost 15 inches and the second month I lost 14. This shiznit is the real deal!

And now on to skinny cupcakes I found this recipe on pinterest. See original recipe here

So first you get one can of pumpkin and I used sugar free yellow cake

And then you mix them together and pour them in muffin tins. THATS IT! and they are only 100 calories EACH!  It took me about 5 minutes. Then just bake at 325 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. And then they look like this

They look a little different then normal cupcakes because they don't have the regular ingredients and I would say they taste like a cross between a muffin and a cupcake. I would also say they have more of a yellow cake taste then pumpkin even though there is an entire can in the batch. All in all craving something sweet this is a winning easy peasy recipe in my book!

Here it goes...

Well Hello there! Thanks for stopping by and finding out a little bit about me! First things first, my name is Kadi (think Cady from mean girls prounced just like "Katie"). Here is a pic of me and my little brother Christmas 2012

 I am 23 years old, full time working girl and dog mom to my 3 year old baby Lola. She just got in trouble in this pic because she was playing with a fruit roll up wrapper.

I have spent about 6 months reading other people's blogs and have found so much inspiration I decided that I would like to have my very own blog to share my story as well. My motivation for this blog is a place for me to talk about my goals, specifically being weight loss, and also to connect with others as I share my story and to learn other's stories and journeys as well.

In August of 2012 by some coincidence I found Mama Laughlin's blog on Pinterest. Here was a woman who did it the right way and made herself a priority. I then found inspiration from just clicking on other blogs like Elle Noel. She rocks it! Her self motivation is contagious!

That is kind of where I came up a name for this blog, Sheer Serendipity. Not only is Serendipity one of my favorite movies but I love what it means, a fortunate accident. And that's what I feel about stumbling upon all of these amazing women's inspring and life changing blogs was for me, a forutnate accident.  

I love reading other people's stories, life journeys etc. I love finding similarities between me and each and every blog I read. It makes me feel for the first time in my life that other people know exactly what I've been through and what I'm going through.

Through reading these blogs something just clicked inside me. Since August I have gone from a size 16 to just last week a size 8! I'm about half way there and I have to keep going, put more effort in, hence starting this blog. Take a look at one of my progress pics below to see how far my journey has taken me thus far.

I plan on blogging about my day to day life, weight loss, food, excercise, fashion, recipes, my dog and everything in between. I want to hold myself accountable. I know I have come a long way but I still have a long way to go. I hope to get and give inspiration through my blog and I hope you stay to watch me discover the best me I can be. I'll get there and that's a promise :)
